The Kindle is one of the most successful e-readers in the market, and Amazon wants to extend their lead in the e-reader market through their latest Kindle Touch. Basically, Amazon considers the Kindle Touch as their next flagship device, and it has been reported that the company is preparing for an April launch, presumably in Japan.
Basically, the Kindle Touch will encompass NTT DoCoMo’s 3G module, whereby users can surf through a 3G network using the Kindle Touch. Apparently, Amazon is banking on the device’s extremely competitive pricing to beat the market, whereby the Kindle Touch would be priced at 20,000 yen ($260). Well, I’m guessing Japan’s premier e-reader, namely the Rakuten, would feel the strong jolt by the Kindle Touch.
