I have traveled to so many countries in the world, and I can say that Paris is one of the most beautiful cities in this world. Frankly speaking, I find the French to be very friendly people, and the French culture is simply exotic. Nevertheless, it seems that I will be making yet another trip to Paris, whereby I have made plans to visit various tourist destinations in the country. Basically, I’m planning to visit Cannes, and I have also allocated some time to go on a tour around Paris. On the other hand, I’m still searching for good hotels in Paris , whereby I hope that I can reserve a luxury accommodation at the heart of the city. In fact, I like to explore the city life inside Paris, whereby I would like to indulge myself with some good French wine, and enjoy some French toasts by the cafeteria at the main road. Also, I hope to share my French journey with my lover, as she has always dreamt of visiting this magnificent city. Well I’m already highly enthusiastic over my upcoming trip, I just hope that everything will go as planned. Just pray for me that the accommodation that I have reserved will be available on my vacation. |

Motorola has been producing countless of top notch mobile phones into the market recently – just think of Milestone or Droid, and I’m pretty sure you’ll agree with me that it’s quality cell phones. Well apparently, Motorola did it again, whereby they have introduced the latest Moto il into the market.
Basically, the iDEN device will be hitting SouthernLINC first, and Alabama, Georgia, or the western half of the Florida panhandle users will be able to enjoy this particular device, first hand.

My parents taught me how to save money at a very young age. In fact, I started my savings account when I was just three years old. And due to the fact that my parents encouraged me to save money, I amass a sizable amount of wealth throughout my teenage years. Of late, a friend of mine who works at the local bank told me something about certificate of deposits. He mentioned that these types of savings offer better interest rates, when compared to the interest rates which are offered by conventional savings account. Of course, since my friend was so enthusiastic over the certificate of deposits, this prompted me to head to the nearest branch in order to inquire more about such deposits. Surprisingly, it’s fairly easy to start such a deposit, but you need a lump sum amount of cash, in order to enjoy better interest rates for the CD. Well I’m already allocating part of my savings to the certificate of deposits, and hopefully, the bank can offer me better interest rates for my savings. I’m hoping that the interest rates will be better than I have expected, so that my savings can stay on top of the inflation. Do you save money using certificate of deposits? |

Well Western Digital has something new on their catalog, whereby the company has recently unveiled their latest 2.5-inch 750GB Scorpio Blue HDD into the market. Basically, the hard drive manufacturer has introduced a rather unusual height form factor, whereby their previous 1TB drive which was unveiled last summer, measures 12.5 mm in height. Do take note that standard laptop hard drives utilizes a 9.5mm height, thus I don’t think that the drive can slot it comfortably inside any laptops in the market.
And with the introduction of the 2.5-inch 750GB Scorpio Blue HDD, this particular drive comes with the 9.5 mm height, and it also has Advanced Format and WhisperDrive technology. On the other hand, the drive also has 5,400 RPM which is pretty slow for the massive storage solution.
Well the 2.5-inch 750GB Scorpio Blue HDD will come with a $149 price tag, and will be available for consumers pretty soon.

We all know that the iPad comes with so many limits, whereby it is just an ordinary e-reader that lacks various connectivity and functionalities. Well according to Sling, it seems that Sling's Mobile Prouct Marketing Manager, Dave Eyler, has mentioned that the company is in the process of making a video player for the iPad. If the player materializes, this will allow the iPad to play H.264, and while giving it the ability to display beyond 320x240 resolution.
However, Sling has not provided any timeline on when they will churn out the SlingPlayer Mobile versions for the iPad, but surely, I believe that the respective company also has plans to create a player for the Windows Phone 7 Series as well.

The Pixel Qi display technology is one of the biggest rivals for existing e-ink technology, as the manufacturer of the Pixel Qi strives to provide cheaper and more viable alternatives to existing e-ink technology. Basically, I find the e-ink technology to be a somewhat disappointment, as surely, e-readers in the market which utilizes such technology, isn’t cheap, and is downright stupid to be priced so expensively that I rather be reading a real book, or perhaps through a cheapo netbook.
On the other hand, OLPC Foundation and Pixel Qi has just signed a free cross-license agreement, whereby all future OLPC will share the same technology which can be found on the Pixel Qi. Personally, I believe that the OLPC program did a great job, as surely, I wouldn’t want to support e-ink’s selfish dominance over the e-reader market.

For existing Milestone owners, I believe that you might have received news that the European Milestones have been given an update, whereby the existing OS has been upgraded to the latest Android 2.1 version. Basically, the update will take place over-the-air, and I believe that the latest Android version will provide several new functionalities, such as the 9 home-screens, Google Earth, as well as the latest features on Google’s mobile OS.
However, the US Droid counterpart has not been given any indication by Verizon that they will be receiving any updates, anytime soon. I’m guessing that North American users will need to wait a couple of months later, in order to fully upgrade to the latest Android.

Surely you have heard Windows users migrating from their existing platform to Apple’s OS X, and apparently, if you are an existing Snow Leopard user, you’d be delighted to know that Apple has updated their Snow Leopard to 10.6.3. Barely five months the OS X 10.6.2 has been placed in operation, the version has been updated to a newer version, whereby this particular version come with various bug fixes.
On the other hand, the version also gives the Snow Leopard better reliability and compatibility with QuickTime X. Also, this particular update also gives your Mac the ability to support Intel's mobile Core i5 / Core i7 chips, in which will be made available in the latest MacBook Pro versions.

Well AT&T is one of the largest telco in North America, and it’s quite unlikely to see the telco to have problems with their network. Generally, AT&T encountered a problem with their 911 emergency services, whereby all 911 calls made through AT&T lines were redirected from Salt Lake City to Seattle.
According to the investigating team, it seems AT&T initially thought that the problem was originated from iPhone’s GPS system. But after extensive probing by the team, it seems that the problem was attributed to the telco’s systems.
Basically, I’m imagining people using the local landlines to make 911 calls in Salt Lake City, which I think is pretty unconventional for the 21st century.

I like to go to the beach for vacations, as the bright sunlight would surely give me a fantastic tan. Frankly speaking, if I were given the choice to work in an enclosed office environment or perhaps at the beach, I’d surely work by the seaside as I just love the working environment. On the other hand, there are so many vacation top spots in various beaches around the country, and one of my personal favorite vacation destinations is none other than Myrtle Beach. The respective beach is in fact a top tourist hotspot, whereby there are golf courses, myrtle beach hotels, exotic spas, and plenty of fine dining restaurants which are situated along the beachside. On the other hand, Myrtle Beach is abuzz with happening nightlife, as there are so many live shows and entertainment at night. Well I’m already planning my next vacation to the beach, so hopefully, I can reserve appropriate accommodation at my favorite hotel. I’m looking forward to dip my toes inside the warm sand, as the feeling is simply magical. My family and I love to go on vacations around the globe. Of late, my son suggested to me that we should go on a camping trip to the nearest park. On the other hand, he also suggested that I should rent a RV for our trip, as the entire family can live inside the RV for a couple of days, while we camp right beside the beautiful blue lake. Generally, the idea of renting a RV and camping beside the lake got me overly excited, and I did my due diligence by researching for a company that rents such vehicles. Well my search has suggested to me that I should get a jayco, as these RVs are very reliable and it even has a powerful engine that allows the vehicle to climb steep slopes. Since we are going on a vacation to the country side, I’m pretty sure that the vehicle is perfect for my camping trip. Also, I hope that I can rent a RV that has a diesel engine, as these engines are much more powerful than conventional gas engines. Also diesel engines are more reliable and can operate under extremely wet conditions. Just wish me luck for my camping trip on the RV, cheers! |

Half a year ago, I took a vow to build my body into a strong, lean and muscular body. Generally, I signed up for a fitness program and this particular program gives me access to various body building exercises. Also, I was assigned a gym instructor for my exercise regime, and according to him, he told me that I should increase my protein intake, if I wanted to build a strong and muscular body. He also mentioned that exercising alone will not help me attain larger muscles on my body, and he recommended that I should supplement my diet with a proti diet. Basically, a protein diet will give my body the necessary building materials to develop my muscles. And with more protein circulating my system, this allows my muscles to have a faster growth rate, as compared to a regular diet. My gym instructor also specifically told me that if I have started the protein diet, I should exercise regularly, or else my body might store the protein into my body fat, in which would ultimately make me look even fatter. Well if you are seriously thinking of building your muscles at a faster rate, perhaps you should supplement your diet with a protein diet instead? |

Two years ago, I found out that part of my home was infested by termites. These termites ate through my beautiful wooden interior furniture, and it also decimated a couple of my doors and window panels. I spent a fortune repairing my damaged home, and part of the money also goes to the local pest control company. Because the termite problem was so extensive, the pest control company decided to use toxic smoke to kill these termites. And during the cleansing process, my family and I had to move into a hotel, so that we don’t endanger ourselves breathing the toxic smoke. Basically, I learn a lot from the incident, whereby I know how to tell if you have western drywood termites. Also, the pest control company taught us how to check for termites, and we used the techniques that they taught us to check for termites on a monthly basis. Of course, my home is no longer infested by termites, as we manage to get rid of these pesky termites, once and for all. Well I just hope that these termites will not return back to my home in the near future, as I wouldn’t want to spend another fortune getting rid of these pesky bugs from my home. |

The 2008 recession can be considered as one of the hardest economic crisis to hit American soil. In fact, economists have attributed the recession as comparable to the ‘Great Depression’ which happened in the 1930s.
Generally, according to the latest news released by the Federal Reserve, it seems that Americans are slowing gaining back their wealth, after being severely beaten by the financial crunch. According to the Federal Reserve, they have calculated the American’s net worth, whereby the figures released by the department showed that the net worth increased 1.3 percent recently. Also, the Federal Reserve has mentioned that the total American net worth would need to increase by 21 percent, and will reach the post-recession peak of $65.9 trillion.
Personally, I believe that the effects from the recent recession are slowly beginning to subside. Although unemployment figures are still at an all time high, I’m sure that the year of 2010 is the year that United States recovers their lost wealth. Also, the manufacturing sector is recording an amicable growth, whereby economists are stating that the manufacturing sector is leading the economic recovery in the United States alone. And with consumers having more confidence over the recent economic output, I’m pretty sure that soon, US consumers will start their spending spree again, and that retailers across the nation will record favorable growth for their business, yet again.
Perhaps, 2010 is the year of recovery, and 2011 will be the year of growth?

Generally, the Americans are thinking of building a high-speed railway in the United States. In fact, the Chinese are already bidding on the US high-speed rail project. According to the Chinese spokesperson, China has all the necessary technology and expertise to build such high-speed rail project, as China alone has built an impressive 4,000 miles of high-speed rail system in China. On the other hand, China also hopes to share their high-speed rail technology to Europe and even to Latin America, whereby they are more than willing to export the technology to these nations.
Basically, China has their own plans to extend the existing high speed rail network in China. According to the Chinese government, it seems that China plans to build another 16,000 miles of high speed rail tracks in which will connect the city of Wuhan, to Guangzhou which is located near Hong Kong. The project is estimated to cost a whopping 2 trillion yuan, and the Chinese officials will get it ready by 2020.
Personally, I believe that the Chinese have the capacity, technology, and capability to build such high-speed network of railway. But surely, I don’t think that the United States might be interested in utilizing such expertise – perhaps it is also the matter of politics as well?

We all know that Toyota has recently confessed that Toyota cars have huge problems with the gas pedals. Basically, Toyota has earlier denied that the gas pedals on their cars are defective. The denial has in fact resulted in horrific crashes involving unsuspecting Toyota car drivers.
Nevertheless, Toyota has recently ordered a recall for more than 8.5 million cars. And with Toyota admitting the defects on their vehicles, it seems that the Californian government has taken the initiative to sue Toyota, as the Japanese car maker was intentionally denying the deadly defects on their cars. In fact, the state of California wants to prove that Toyota has ignored, obfuscated, omitted, and misinterpreted the evidence that showed that their cars have defects on the gas pedals.
Personally, I believe that Toyota needs to be punished. Although Akio Toyoda has publicly apologized to the media and to the world over these defects, I don’t think his apology can bring back the lives of people who were perished due to the faulty gas pedals. I think that Akio Toyoda should resign, as surely, covering such defects on Toyota vehicles is a serious crime.

It seems that the social security in the United States has been collecting more money than paying out benefits to US citizens. And according to a source, it seems that the Federal government owes the social security money, a whopping $2.5 trillion in IOUs, since 2 decades ago.
Sadly, the federal government has already spent the money that they have borrowed from the social security. In fact, the Treasury Department has issued a stack of IOUs, in the form of Treasury Bonds, and it seems that the social security is planning to cash in on some of these Treasury Bonds.
According to some of the top economists in the country, it seems that this is one of the worst times to cash in the Treasury Bonds. The US government is already running on a $1.5 trillion dollars budget, and the government also plans for more trillion dollars budget deficits in the following years.

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, has recently disclosed that the Chinese government plans to keep the Yuan, relatively stable. According to the Chinese Premier, he mentioned that the price of Yuan will be stable as of now, although the government has plans to reform currency control, in which Washington and other trading partners in the world, are continuously pushing for such reforms.
Basically, according to top economists in the world, they have branded the Yuan as undervalued. And with the Yuan being undervalued, Chinese market gains advantages, whereby Chinese exporters can export their products at an advantageous price, while swelling the country’s trade surplus. Critics even added that the Chinese Yuan is 40 percent undervalued against the dollar. However, Premier Wen Jiabao, has firmly denied such claims.
Personally, I don’t think that the Yuan is undervalued. Surely, if the Chinese were to let the Yuan gain value, I believe that the US Dollar will continue to slide against major currencies in the world. Would the US government prefer having the US dollar on par with the Chinese Yuan?

Generally, the European and US stock market was on the edge, as stock market investors were anxiously waiting for the release for US retail performances. And according to the commerce department, it seems that US retail sales rose 0.3 percent for the month of February, which pushed European and US stock market up higher as the retail sales performances were better than expected. Generally, the figures released give market analysts some hope, whereby the figures showed the state of US market consumption, which is generally used as a yardstick to measure the global economic growth.
Earlier, the Dow Jones recorded a jump of 24.49 points, or an increment of 0.2 percent to 10,636.33. The Standard & Poor's 500 index, on the other hand, rose 2.38 points, which can be translated to 0.2 percent to 1,152.62 points.
In Europe, the FTSE 100 index went up by 23.10 points, or 0.4 percent. Germany’s DAX also rose by 39.99 points, or 0.7 percent, while the CAC-40 France was up 7.32 points or 0.2 percent higher.

The Japanese market is touted as the world’s second largest economy. Generally, the Japanese government has released the latest growth rate for their economy, and the figures suggested that economy did not perform as expected. Earlier, the Japanese government forecasted that the economy will grow at 4.6 percent for the month of October to December. And with the latest figures released by the government, the figure suggested that annualized pace for the economy for Q4 2009 was at 3.8 percent.
Personally, I believe that the Japanese market suffered one of the most brutal beatings in history when the 2008 recession started more than a year ago. And with the Japanese automaker, Toyota, coming under tremendous fire for their faulty gas pedals and other security issues, I believe that these are also the contributing factors for the poor market performances for the Japanese market.

India’s central bank, has recently disclosed that they will buying a whopping $10 billion in bonds which are issued by IMF. Generally, India, China and Brazil has jointly declared that they will be supporting IMF’s cause, whereby these countries vow to increase the reserves which can be used to aid members that need emergency cash bailouts. Generally, the IMF has more than $750 billion in reserves, whereby the money can be used to perform major bailouts, when necessary. In fact, Brazil has also bought $10 billion dollars in bond, while China has already invested $50 billion dollars.
Personally, I believe that it is imperative that major countries in the world support the IMF, as surely, the monetary support will ensure that the organization will have enough funds to perform major bailouts. On the other hand, I also believe that the IMF should restructure their lending structure, as clearly, most nations are already lamenting that the terms to borrow such emergency funds are unfair, or simply none-beneficial for the organization.

Earlier, Canadian telecom equipment maker, Nortel Network, has declared bankruptcy in order to protect the company from their creditors. And recently, it seems that Nortel Network has recorded a healthy profit for Q4 2010, whereby the equipment maker has recorded a net income of $1.78 billion, or $3.34 per share. Also, it seems that Nortel Network gained more cash flow and profit from that particular quarter, as the company also sold one of their CDMA business in the respective quarter.
Just a year ago, Nortel Network filed a huge loss for their business, whereby their losses amounted to a whopping $2.14 billion, or $4.28 per share. And with such huge losses, Nortel Network resorted into declaring for bankruptcy protection in January 2009. And as for Nortel Network’s 2009 financial performances, it seems that the company recorded $488 million in profit.

Earlier, Swiss Bank UBS sold their commodity business due to the financial crisis. In fact, UBS suffered from one of the heaviest write-downs in their history, and the bank even had to be bailed out by the Swiss government. Generally, the bank sold most of their assets in order to stay afloat amidst the 2008 financial crisis. In fact, in January 2009, the bank sold their base metals, oil, and US power and gas business to Barclays.
And recently, with the financial market improving considerably, UBS has disclosed that they might be returning to the commodity business in 2010. According to Co-Chief Executive Carsten Kengeter, he mentioned that UBS is on the verge to reconstituting their currencies, fixed income and commodities. Also, UBS might be hiring another 100 to 300 specialists for their FICC division, which currently has 1,850 people who are working in the department now.

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, has recently issued strong concerns over extreme fluctuations of the US Dollar. In fact, Premier Wen Jiabao has called on Washington to issue concrete steps in ensuring the stability of the currency. On the other hand, the Chinese Premier also added that US should provide assurance over the safety of their huge Treasury bond holdings. The Chinese Premier concluded that the Treasury value was the matter of national credibility and that the US government should take firm control over their bludgeoning budget deficit and prevent inflation from further inflating the country finances.
Personally, I believe that the US government should take concrete measures in ensuring stability for their currencies. Surely, the US dollar has devalued so much over the years, I believe that it’s time that the US government should take steps in increasing the value of the US dollar.

Earlier, the Pentagon has issued a $35 billion contract, whereby the winning bidder for the contract, will manufacture mid-air fueling planes to the Pentagon. Of course, one of the bidders for such projects is none other than EADS, a French-based aero-defense group, which has partnered with US-based Northrop Grumman.
EADS claims that the decision for the contract was somewhat rigged, whereby decision makers made their decisions in favor of their rival, namely Boeing. Basically, the respective company also added that such decision is a clear violation on the rules of fair competition between both the economies.
